A wild adventure
Set in an idyllic wild meadow, our trio of individually crafted shepherd’s huts bring the beauty of nature right to your front door.
Take the meandering path to find your traditional, cosy hut, surrounded by mature trees and hedges for total seclusion. It’s just you and the great outdoors!
Inside…
Step into your hut and you’ll find an eclectic blend of contemporary and vintage style, all carefully curated by your hosts, John and Neill. The hut is well insulated with a wood burning stove and colourful throws, so it’s super cosy, all year round. There’s a well-equipped kitchenette with table and chairs, comfortable seating and a full-size double bed. Check out our little extras: wildlife books, games and binoculars – plenty to keep you occupied, whatever the weather.
Outside…
Outside the hut, you’ll have lots of space to relax, gather around the fire pit, enjoy a bbq or play games. And if you love star-gazing, our meadow has its own special viewing area where you can lie back and witness a spectacular light show.
From the hut, it’s just a short walk to your Scandi-style washroom. You’ll have your own private key so there’s no queueing for the shower!
And beyond….
A ten-minute stroll alongside the water meadow takes you to the tiny village of Middleton. The Bell pub has great food and local Adnams ale.
Fen Lodge is surrounded by fields and water meadows. There are a number of footpaths across Darsham Marshes nature reserve, which teems with wildlife including deer and wading birds.
It’s only a short car ride to the stunning beach at Dunwich, RSPB Minsmere, and the classic seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold.
