I was fortunate enough to visit this beautiful shepherd’s hut before it was even settled in its final niche which has lovely uninterrupted views of woods and fields. It will be perfect for a snug winter retreat with log burning stove or a summer rural break. It is only a seven minute walk down a footpath to a pub.

We stayed at Neills place for a full 2 weeks as I was attending a course nearby..Neill’s hut was a refuge for me and my partner and 2 kids. We felt cosy when the weather turned a bit cold and yet it was glorious in the sunshine. We even got to see a meteor shower form outside the hut just before bed time which was amazing...We were able to cook some creative meals on the 2 hub cooker and roast food in the Dualit mini cooker. There is also a fire pit for BBQ’s. The beds were super comfy and the shower room is clean and beautifully decorated..a big bonus is that it’s less than a minute from your barn door. There are some excellent farm shops all around to buy great fresh produce, one in particular is a short walk away in Middleton and which serves a delicious English breakfast amongst other delicious things... I highly recommend a stay in this lovely hut with such friendly and sweet hosts! Ps..the Swing Ball kept us busy and fit during our stay..thanks Neill.

Fen Lodge is such a gem! An easy drive from the city in a beautiful area of Suffolk. The hut itself is adorable, very well appointed and comfortable. We went for the local breakfast basket which was fantastic and enjoyed eating al fresco in the peaceful surroundings. Neill is a perfect host, friendly, laid back, and very communicative. Also love how dog friendly the whole area is. Looking forward to returning in the cooler months so we can use the wood burning stove.

Guys if you were like me and have never tried ‘Shepherds Hut- ing’ before then I urge you to give it ago. You won’t go far wrong by choosing Fen Lodge for your first Shepherd Hut experience. Beautiful peaceful and very restful. If you want to take the pace of life down a notch or two then there is no better place to be. Neill is an excellent host where attention to detail is the order of the day. The ‘hut’ is stylish and comfortable and Neill has thought of everything. Oh and don’t forget about the most important meal of the day.....breakfast “my oh my!” what a feast and so delicious the best bacon and sausages ever!! So go on give it a go and make a new experience you won’t regret it.

We just returned from a lovely stay at Fen Lodge. It’s a beautiful place and the setting and grounds are idyllic and instantly relaxing. The huts are gorgeous and the interior so stylish with every detail thought out (including the lovely bathroom). Neill was very friendly and helpful. It was definitely luxury camping and I would recommend in an instant.

we spent a wondefully magical autumnal night at Fen Lodge Shepherd’s Huts and woke to fabulous views across the meadow as the mist was rising. It was the perfect place to whisk my friend away for a surprise special evening to catch up and chill out. The shepherd’s hut is tastefully kitted out with a lovely retro-contemporary feel. The bed is really comfortable and the duvet was so warm - we even slept with the stable door ajar and were able to see the stars in their element as we drifted off to sleep to the sound of owls hooting. It is an ideal place to come throughout the year and the sea is only a couple of miles walk away - a definite place to return to - next time I’ll take my cosie!
